The A/L ICT syllabus is set by the National Institute of Education (NIE) and updated regularly to reflect changes in technology and how it’s used in the real world. Since it was first introduced, the syllabus has gone through four major revisions:
- 2011 – First Release: Laid the foundation with basic computing concepts, programming, and networking.
- 2012 to 2015 – Second Release: Added database management and introductory web development.
- 2016 to 2018 – Third Release: Introduced Internet of Things concepts and updated programming content.
- 2019 Onward – Current Syllabus: Includes advanced Python, cloud computing, AI basics, and modern ICT trends.
The current syllabus is organized into 14 units, combining theory, practical skills, and emerging technology topics.
